The Allegan County Community Foundation Board of Trustees and the West Michigan Cultural Trails Advisory Fund announce the initial grant cycle for collaborative projects that align with the West Michigan Cultural Trails mission to "cultivate, promote and preserve the region's cultural economy".

To apply for a WMCT grant a lead organization must be identified and be one of the following: a county, city, township, village, DDA, or a tax-exempt non-profit. This lead organization will act as the fiduciary. In addition to the lead organization, there must be at least 2 (two) additional businesses/organizations working in collaboration. WMCT Project Criteria conditions must be met and can be found on the WMCT Grant Application.

Examples of fundable projects include: Collaborative Marketing: billboards, promotional brochures, etc. Collaborative Events: show/festival/event coordination and/or marketing. Collaborative Cultural/Artistic preservation, interpretation and/or promotion. Accessibility and/or interpretive efforts. Applications that focus on the cultivation, promotion or preservation of the historical, cultural and/or agricultural richness of Allegan County are encouraged. Grants awards will be for $1,000 or less and cannot exceed 50% of a program budget. The deadline for application is December 1, 2010.
