Allegan County United Way Endowment Fund
Description

We envision a county where all individuals and families achieve their potential and contribute to their communities. To that end, the Allegan County United Way & Volunteer Center mobilizes those who live or work in Allegan County to give, advocate, and volunteer. United Way volunteers invest donors’ gifts to advance the common good in Allegan County, especially for the benefit of households who are ALICE—Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. ALICE households are working, but still struggle to make ends meet.
United Way volunteers invest donations in three ways:
1) Allocations to nonprofit service providers that have demonstrated their soundness by achieving United Way Partner Agency status and which provide crucial services to Allegan County residents.
2) Grants to a wide range of public and private organizations to improve systems of care or to address gaps in services in Allegan County.
3) Funding for projects administered by United Way, which include Imagination Library, VITA Free Tax Counseling, Healthy Allegan County Coalition, Volunteer Center, and Stuff the Bus Food Drive.
As a Volunteer Center, the Allegan County United Way helps to link volunteers with organizations seeking volunteers through listings on the website, www.acuw.org. The United Way also provides organizations with technical assistance for recruiting, retaining, and celebrating volunteers.
Purpose: The Endowment Fund exists to support the mission and services of the Allegan County United Way (See also the Allegan County United Way Volunteer Center Endowment Fund).
