Information and Deadlines:
The Non-Profit Spotlight was developed by the Allegan County Community Foundation as a vehicle by which the non-profit sector could tell their stories. The non-profit sector exists to serve the needs in our community. In order to understand the world around us, we only need to look at what the non-profits are doing. What better way than to have a publication that lets you share your news to Allegan County.
We highly encourage all non-profits serving Allegan County to participate in the Spotlight.
EXCITING NEWS! Starting with the January 2021 issue of the Non-Profit Spotlight, we are going digital! We knew the day would come that it made sense to reduce costs and move into the next exciting stage an interactive digital publication will provide. While bittersweet after 7 years, now is the time.

With the transition to a new software platform, the digital Spotlight will allow for all live hyperlinks…with the click of the mouse readers will be able to hyperlink to your website, a sign-up form, an email, a Facebook post, a live video and more! This new interactive platform will serve you and the reader well.
What is a HYPERLINK?
The words above in orange are hyperlinks and they link you to an example of each – a website, a sign up form, a Facebook post and a live video. Think of all the ways in which you can maximize the readers interaction with your non-profit.
What Does This Mean For Your Non-Profit?
The cost to participate in each issue (starting with the January 2021 issue) will be half price – only $25!
Article word counts are increasing to 650 words per story!
You may submit two articles in each issue for the same price of $25!
You may continue to submit photos, info-bits – and now hyperlinks – including websites, social media, videos and more!
The potential reach of the digital issue is 10+ times the current distribution! The saying “a rising tide lifts all boats” is fitting. Based on a cursory review of just Facebook followers of a select group of Allegan County non-profits, if each of the non-profits shares the url for the digital Spotlight, more than 125,000 followers will have access to your articles! The Foundation will also boost each issue on Facebook and share on Instagram along with issues being accessible on our website.
Initially, the Spotlight will continue to be published on the same schedule as previously published. Over time we will, with your input, determine if going to a bi-monthly schedule is of value.
