Name of Fund: Jack and Susan Thiel Music Fund

Purpose: The primary purpose of the fund is to provide camp scholarships and instrument rental grants based on the following conditions:

Camp Scholarships:

  • A scholarship has been established to support and encourage young people in their extracurricular pursuit of music or vocal arts education. The scholarship is available to 8th – 11th graders. Annual scholarships will be awarded, (number of and amount of to be determined annually), for music or vocal arts camp attendance.
  • Open to students attending Allegan County public schools
  • Will be available for students entering 8th grade through junior year of high school
  • Second-year applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis

Instrument Rentals Grants:

In addition to the camp scholarships, each year two grants for instrument rentals will be available for 6th – 12th graders in Allegan or Otsego Public Schools. The grant covers up to $300 per student.

  • Available to students entering 6th – 12th grade attending Allegan or Otsego Public schools\
  • Maximum rental covered per application is $300/year; total amount to award will be determined annually.

Applicants may apply for the camp scholarship and the instrument rental grant.
